Dalongdong water reservoir is located in the western section of the town of Duanfen in Taishan City and upstream of the Dalongdong River.  One can visit the reservoir by driving a car and travelling west 52 kilometers away from the town of Taicheng.  Built in 1959, this reservoir has a total landfall area of 148 kilometers squared and a water capacity of 310 million cubic meters.  It can irrigate up to 150,000 metric acres of land and provide flood protection for up to 250,000 metric acres of land.  Thus, in addition primarily using this reservoir for irrigation, it is also used for flood control, generating electricity, and breeding fish.  The reservoir is considered to be a famous large-scale reservoir for the entire country, and a famous tourist agricultural site for the Jiangmen City area.
